• Club Swim Coach to plan and deliver two pool sessions per week consistent with goals

agreed with the Club and in collaboration with the existing coaching team.

Responsibilities

• Swim Sessions

• Plan and deliver two swim sessions per week (Sunday 1.5 hours / Thursday 1

hour) to a group of triathletes ranging from competent to highly experienced.

• Liaise with other swim coaches.

• Annual Training Plan

• The Club has an annual training plan based on member goals, abilities and

ambitions and around key events during the triathlon season.

• Understand the triathlon season, event distances and swim skill requirements

e.g. open water.

• General

• Manage safety and welfare of the swimmers.

• Understand and adhere to BTF swim coaching guidelines.

• Liaise with Club coaches and the Club committee.

• Abide by and promote Club policies.

• Skills

• An effective communicator and ability to develop good rapport with

members.

• Teaching – able to understand, explain and demonstrate what is required for

improvement.

• Coaching – able to motivate, encourage and develop members to achieve

their goals.

• Able to add value for both the beginner and accomplished swimmer.

• Confident working and communicating with a wide range of ages and

abilities.

• Organised and proactive.

• Club Information

• The Club has over 100 members of which 15 to 25 swimmers attend each

session with an average of 20 swimmers per session. Club is accredited by the

BTF at Bronze Level.

Ages range from 16 to mid-60s with an average age of mid-40s.

Swim capability ranges from competent to former ‘swim club accomplished’ swimmers.

Members are self-motivated and keen to improve their skills and fitness.

The club currently has a BTF Level 3 Triathlon Coach who coaches a weekly run session, and

1:1 triathlon, and two BTF Level 2 Triathlon Coaches who coach one swim session (alternate

weeks).

£30 an hour
