Brian McGuinness – ECC

BSCA Executive Director Brian McGuinness, has been elected onto the Board of the respected European Coaching Council (ECC).

The ECC forms part of the International Centre for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) which is based at Leeds Beckett University but operates around the globe. He sits on the Board alongside colleagues from National Coaching Associations in the Netherlands, Finland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Portugal amongst a number of others.

Brian received his nomination following the excellent progress the BSCA has made in representing coach members with employers and national governing bodies. As a result he has been selected to represent the views of the ECC with the European Association of Sports Employers, Uni-Europa (European Trade Union Forum) and EU Commissioners at forthcoming meetings in Frankfurt & Helsinki.

His experiences representing UK coaches will be used to develop policy within the ECC, ICCE & EU.

Of his appointment Brian says, "I am honoured to have been offered this opportunity. It is recognition of the standing of the BSCA across the continent and hopefully will open up other opportunities for its membership."
