Senior Coach

Due to expansion Blythe Barracudas Swimming Club in Solihull is looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic senior coach. This an exciting opportunity for a qualified swim coach who would like to join our experienced coaching team.

We are a family friendly performance club that strives to provide opportunities for all our swimmers to achieve their own personal goals; this is driven by their love of swimming and desire to achieve. As a club we have a proactive and supportive committee, assisted by a strong team of coaches and volunteers. We are a Swim Mark accredited club with around 350 swimmers and we are looking to grow our membership. Our swimmers span from learning to swim to competitive development, county, regional and national levels.

We are looking for a coach with motivation, drive and enthusiasm to continue growing and developing our club. The role would suit a Level 2 coach, or a Level 1 coach who is working towards their Level 2 qualification, allowing themselves to develop alongside our club. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their current role.

Working with the support of our current dedicated coaching team, your role would include coaching across all squads, working closely with our head coach, current coaches and volunteers to produce a varied and competitive coaching schedule to support all our swimmers. The successful candidate will be expected to work across various swimming pools in the Solihull area.

An hourly rate of pay will be negotiable and dependant on experience.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Swim England Level 2 coaching qualification, or a Level 1 qualification with a view to gaining Level 2.
  • Have a high technical understanding to produce detailed swim sessions for specific squads.
  • Be willing to keep up to date with modern swimming techniques, and share this knowledge with other members of the coaching team as appropriate.
  • Need to be able to demonstrate a strong ability to coach, motivate and develop the swimmer’s technique.
  • Be committed to maintaining the relationships between the coaches, swimmers, parents, committee and other volunteers.
  • Attend appropriate competitions and swim camps as required.
  • Need to be reliable, punctual with excellent time management skills.
  • Hold the appropriate child safeguarding qualifications and DBS check.
