Age Group Coach Vacancy - Saint Felix School, Suffolk

Saint Felix School and Saint Felix School Swimming Club are looking for an enthusiastic coach to join the coaching and teaching team with effect from September 2019. The coach will be leading the top age group squad and assist with the delivery of sessions with other squads and if necessary within the Swim School.

We are based in the picturesque coastal resort of Southwold, Suffolk and currently have 150 children in the Swim School, 70 in Squads and 25 Tri-Masters from the local area and International swimmers from Tanzania, Germany and France.

The successful candidate will:

- Be ASA Level 2 Coach qualified

- Will be full-time coach responsible for writing and implementing annual and daily session plans. Attending age-group competitions as well as County, Regional and National competitions as required

- Have an understanding of age-group athletes training requirements

- Preferably, have experience at coaching swimmers through to a Regional level and attaining good success

- Be able to correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance

- Be enthusiastic and inspiring to all levels of swimmers from Junior through to late Teens and Masters

- Be passionate about swimming and able to keep up to date with news, changes and advancements in swimming teaching and coaching

- Be able to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and other coaches

- Have good administration skills and be computer literate

- Hold a clean DBS check through the ASA

- Ideally hold a current safeguarding children certificate (if not – we can assist in attending a course)

- Hold an NPLQ or RLSS Rescue Test Award for Teachers and Coaches (if not – we can assist in attending a course)

- Be proactive in attending continuing professional development courses

- Work well with the broader coaching, teaching and school colleagues where required

- Agree to abide by the Club Code of Conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Swim England policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc.

- Understand appropriate training and competition loads for different swimmers, recognising biological versus chronological maturity

- Be able to attend competitions

- Have a full and clean driving license

Coaching Hours:

- The salary is negotiable and dependent on qualifications and experience

- Hours will vary and the successful candidate must be prepared to be flexible with early morning, evening and weekend sessions
