BSCA Coaching Chain Award
This award is presented to recognise the contributions made by a group of coaches throughout an athlete’s career which helps them achieve their potential.
This was the first time that the BSCA had presented this award.
The winners were those who were involved in the identification, development and ultimate success of James Goddard.

Sean Kelly, Coach at Stockport ITC & James Goddard's mother Liz, receive their Awards
James started his career at Romiley SC where his talent was identified by his first coach John Buller. John has sadly now passed away but he was remembered & represented on the night by Liz Crabtree & Glynis Baglin of Romiley SC. Romiley recognised at a young age that James needed more than they were in a position to offer and bravely encouraged him to join Stockport Metro where he was taken under the wing of Edith Dalgleish, the then Junior & Age Group coach at the programme. As he grew older & developed James moved into the senior programme at the Club and his recent success in Delhi came under the tutorship of Sean Kelly, Head coach at the Stockport ITC. Sean was on hand to collect his Award and James himself was represented on the night by his mother Liz Goddard.
The event was attended by coaches from throughout the globe, including Michael Scott, GB National Performance Manager & Dennis Pursley National Performance Head Coach.
